Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid (BSWA) provide front line domestic violence and abuse support services to women and children in the Birmingham and Solihull area.
BFS have appointed two IDVAs (Independent Domestic Violence Advisors) to work across all ten districts of Birmingham.
The Early Years IDVA’s, Amelia York and Jayne McDowall, are employed by Birmingham & Solihull women’s Aid and will work specifically with Birmingham Forward Steps, giving direct specialist supportto women and children experiencing abuse.
The IDVA’s offer a12 weeks service andoffer emotional and practical support, including safety planning, Domestic Abuse awareness, civil injunctions to women accessing children centres in Birmingham and affected by domestic abuse.
Amelia covers all Barnardo’s children centres (South Birmingham) and Jayne covers Spurgeon’s, St Pauls Trust and the Springfield Project (North Birmingham).
